Our Code of Conduct
Introduction
Our ESG (Environment Social Governance) program is a crucial part of our vision to be a company whose expertise contributes positively and impactfully to society and the environment. We have strengthened our commitment to our employees, customers, partners, citizens, communities and the planet through three fundamental pillars: environmental impact reduction, inclusion and innovation for a better world. The 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals inspire us in defining our actions and goals.
As Handshakers, we are committed to corporate social responsibility and expect our own organization to comply with this Code of Conduct.
Social considerations
Social sustainability refers to practices that contribute to the quality of life of both our employees and the communities that may be affected by our activities.
In that regard we will:
- Respect all internationally recognized human rights, including the freedom of workers to associate with regard to working conditions and their right to form trade unions, establish works councils and engage in work-related negotiations; Have zero tolerance for modern slavery, child labor, forced labor; Ensure wages , benefits and working conditions that represent fair and equitable remuneration;Providing equal opportunity for all employment, free from prejudice and discrimination;Providing a safe and healthy working environment, working conditions and work equipment for our employees.
Ethical considerations
Ethical sustainability refers to activities or conduct that violate applicable laws against bribery, corruption or money laundering.
We, as Handshakers, will act ethically and be honest, transparent and trustworthy in all our dealings.
This includes:
- Compliance with all relevant laws and regulations; Adopting fair and competitive business practices to prevent corruption, bribery, fraud, money laundering or conflicts of interest; Ensuring the quality and safety of our products and services.
Environmental considerations
Environmental sustainability refers to practices that contribute to the long-term protection of the environment.
We aim to minimize the negative environmental impact of our activities, products and services and encourage the implementation of an environmental management system, in line with recognized standards such as ISO 14001, EMAS (or equivalent).
This includes:
- Consideration of ecosystems and the environment within our business operations; Implementing recycling programs; Reducing our carbon emissions; Ensuring proper waste management; Utilizing renewable energy and resources; Protecting habitats and biodiversity.
Policy implementation
At Handshakers, we encourage the implementation of policies consistent with this Code of Conduct and maintain appropriate documentation to demonstrate compliance, upon request.
If we have reasonable grounds to suspect a violation of this Code of Conduct within our organization, we will take appropriate action to remedy the failure.
